Coatings

The Biomaster range can be easily used in a wide range of paint and coating applications.

Healthcare Applications

Recent clinical trials have shown that when a hospital ward is treated with Antimicrobial coatings bacterial growth is reduced by over 95% with a significant reduction in adjacent wards. Results also show that untreated surfaces had over 92% more bacteria than those that were treated. Biomaster offers excellent protection from HAI (hospital acquired infections) and compliments hygiene practices by working in-between clean downs.

Food Preparation Areas

In busy factory environments where clean downs in-between shifts and product switches is not always convenient food born bacteria such as E.Coli, Salmonella and Listeria can thrive on surfaces used for food preparation. Biomaster provides a durable, wash proof coating with Antimicrobial protection to prevent the growth of these bacteria.

Paints are inherently Antimicrobial due to an in-can preservative. However this effect wears of quite quickly as shown in the graph below, where as a Biomaster treated coating will have a continued Antimicrobial effect. A coating containing Biomaster will also have a quicker initial reduction of bacteria compared to a standard coating.

Paints

When used in paints and emulsions the Silver based additive provides permanent cost effective protection against healthcare & food related bacteria such as , E.Coli, Salmonella and Listeria.

Inks and Lacquers

When used in inks and lacquers the additive can be applied to paper, metal, and plastics to provide a durable top coat protection against healthcare and food related bacteria.

Powder Coatings

The additive is very effective in powder coatings and provides a durable protection to surfaces. Typical applications are found in healthcare applications such as door handles, monitoring equipment and hospital beds.

Biomaster will not interfere with any other additive loading in the coating and is compatible with most UV curing techniques.

Biomaster has been tested against over 50 bacteria in over 2000 applications normally achieving a 99.99% reduction. Due to the efficacy of Biomaster only a very small addition level is required ensuring a very cost effective coating application.
